The Rosta product portfolio utilizes FPGA's designed and manufactured by Xilinx facilitating market advantage through price advantage and an extensive product family. Xilinx FPGA's have been integrated into a comprehensive product range consisting of PMC modules PCI-X cards and carrier boards allowing combinations of up to 16 PMC modules (32 FPGA devices) into one system.


FPGA PMC Module's (RSP-5XX)


The RSP-512 PMC module can provide up to 16 million logic gates in a single width PMC form factor. This is made possible by fitting two 8 Million gate Virtex II FPGA's. These two devices are configured to be fully programmable by the user. A third FPGA is fitted and acts as system FPGA. Each user FPGA has a dedicated bank of 256 MBytes of DDR SDRAM. The RSP-512 can be fitted with lower gate count Virtex II devices starting at 3 Million gates.


The RSP-506 can be fitted with two Xilinx Virtex II FPGA's each of which can be specified with between 2 and 6 Million logic gates each of which has a dedicated bank of DDR SDRAM. Two LVDS interfaces from each FPGA are connected to external module connectors.


The RSP-504 is fitted with one Xilinx Virtex/Virtex E FPGA which can be specified with a gate count of between 50K an 1 Million logic gates. ZBT SRAM is also available as a local memory.


FPGA PCI-X card RMB-411


The RMB-411 is a full size PCI-X card fitted with a single Xilinx Virtex II PRO. The RMB-411 can be specified with XC2V20-XC2V50 devices with local ZBT SRAM and a SODIMM slot that can be populated with up to a IGByte module. A local PCI-X bus connects the Virtex II PRO to a single PMC slot. Four Virtex II PRO RocketIO transceivers are available as XAUI and another two as InfiniBand.


The Carier board RMB-407 and RMB-405 are passive PCI carrier cards with 2 PMC slots each.


Reconfigurable Modular Computer RMC-8


This modular approach allows users to create Reconfigurable Modular Computer systems. For example an RMC-8 system is based on 8 RMB-407 carrier boards allowing up to 256 Million gates and 8 GB memory in 4U rack. Adding other PMC modules like ADC/DAC manufactured by third party vendors makes it easy to create application specific high performance Reconfigurable Computing Systems.
