About Rosta

Rosta was founded in 1993 to provide system integration services and to develop and distribute high performance computing systems.

Modular Approach

Rosta's first products were based on transputer technology. These products utilized the same modular (TRAM by Inmos, UK) approach seen in the current product portfolio. The modular approach proved so successful it evolved with other silicon vendors: TIM (Texas Instruments, USA) and SHARCPAC (Analog Devices, USA) modules. Rosta has been involved in the development, sales and support of all these module standards.

PMC - PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC, IEEE 1386.1) is an international open standard and all Rosta products described here are based on this standard.

Using the Rosta modular approach a system architect can avoid issues such as incorrect PCI initialization, assigning interrupts etc. when lots of PCI devices are required in the same system. The power dissipation that can be achieved by using this approach also of great benefit to the high level system designer.

Rosta Design

The design of Rosta products takes into account that they will almost certainly be used as components in a larger system. Design techniques such is increased power ground layer thickness, multistage filtering of power supply voltages, the use of powerful DC/DC converters, thermo monitoring and efficient cooling methods allows Rosta products to be deployed reliably in any given scenario.
